About me

Hello and welcome to my kitchen!

I’m Olivia, a health food enthusiast with a passion for whipping up uncomplicated, nutritious, and delicious meals out of my home kitchen in Austin, TX.

I’m so glad you found my blog, and without telling you my whole life story, I want to share a bit about myself so you can get to know the girl behind the recipes.

Let’s whip through some quick stats: I was born and raised in Eugene, OR. My husband, Kyle, and I met when we were both living in San Diego, CA where I lived for 8 years. I ran Division I Cross Country and Track and studied Accounting at the University of San Diego – Go Toreros!

After college, I worked for 4 years in corporate consulting at PricewaterhouseCoopers. I started sharing my healthy homemade recipes on social media (follow me on IG @olivia.adriance) in 2021 and became a full-time recipe Content Creator in 2022 thanks to your support!

My Story

Now let’s go back to where my passion for cooking, and specifically healthy cooking, began!

I grew up cooking alongside my mom. She is an amazing home cook and baker and would give me little sous chef jobs in the kitchen while she prepared dinner every night.

My favorite childhood memories involve spending the day making homemade pasta, baking berry cobblers from berries picked on our country property, decorating tiered chocolate cakes for birthdays, making fresh pesto from our garden basil, and whipping up Swedish pancakes every Saturday morning alongside my mom.

My passion for cooking developed into a passion for HEALTHY cooking as I began experiencing progressively worse acne throughout my teens and into adulthood and turned to food to heal my skin.

After trying every ointment, cream, and pill to get my acne to go away, I started learning how to swap out ingredients that inflamed my skin for healthy alternatives and landed on a whole food or minimally processed, gluten-free, dairy-free, refined sugar-free diet.

My personal experience with the healing power of food is a huge part of why I am so passionate about sharing healthy recipes!

But this blog isn’t just about recipes; it’s about creating a community of health-conscious foodies who are mindful of how they nourish themselves and their families inside and out!

We’re in this together – trying to navigate the ever-changing landscape of nutrition science and learning how to listen to our bodies about what makes us feel, think, and be our best selves.

What you will find on this blog

In this blog, you can expect uncomplicated healthy recipes (made from readily available ingredients using simple cooking techniques) that are gluten-free, dairy-free, and refined sugar-free, healthy tips and inspiration, clean brand recommendations, healthy pantry staples, and a little about my life in Austin, TX sprinkled in.

As important as what you will find is what you will not find, and one thing you will not find on my blog is a one-size-fits-all attitude toward healthy eating.

I am a firm believer that different diets work for different people.

The intention of my blog is not to convince you to eat the way I eat – it’s to provide recipe inspiration and a starting point for you to make nourishing meals for yourself and your family.

If you’re not sensitive to dairy, I encourage you to add cheese to my dishes! If you’re not sensitive to gluten, use whole grain breads and pastas where I use gluten-free alternatives! Make my recipes your own.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for stopping by! I’d love to be friends. You can find me on Instagram, TikTok, and Pinterest too!

If you have any questions, or ideas, or just need some reassurance, feel free to send me a message!
