Healthy Homemade Hoisin Sauce

I have a really hard (impossible even) time finding hoisin sauce at the store that doesn’t have ingredients I shy away from (gluten and refined sugar and tons of preservatives and other additives I can’t even pronounce). This inspired me to make my own because hoisin sauce (essentially Chinese BBQ sauce) is in so many Asian dishes!

Homemade Hoisin Sauce

A quick and healthy, gluten and refined sugar-free hoisin sauce you can make at home!

Ingredients 

  • 2 tbsp tamari
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
  • 1 tsp coconut aminos
  • 2 tsp sriracha
  • 1 heaping tbsp miso paste
  • 1 heaping tbsp peanut butter preferably creamy
  • 1/4 tsp Chinese five spice

Instructions 

  • Combine all of your ingredients in a bowl and whisk well!
